IMAM DAAYIEE ABDULLAH PROVIDES
QURAN-BASED SERVICES

Welcome to Daayiee's Place of Inner Peace. No matter where we live, globally, Shari’ah influence our lives. However, as individuals, couples, and families, whenever we face conflict of a personal or familial nature, do we know if it is religion or culture where the conflict lies? Do you possess a good understanding of Shari'ah to respond to your questions? Are there questions that you do not know how to approach to find an answer? If so, together we may be able to find those solutions.

Over the past 12 years, I have used religious counseling based upon traditional Islamic scholarship in fiqh and Ijtihad.  Learning the foundational standards of Shari’ah Sciences—the tools for developing traditional and alternative conclusions; then filtering for culture and human rights standards—a balanced evaluation of traditional and alternative points of view reveal the best solutions for each case—just like the message of Quran.  Muslims that I have counseled using this method report a strong sense of personal well-being and happiness with their results.

If you are an individual, couple, or family facing an important life issue causing personal discomfort, disharmony in your relationships, and strife in your life, it is important to get the facts, develop alternatives, and find your solution.  Here at Daayiee's Place of Inner Peace, I care for my clients, and my goal is to provide you with the best religious counseling to meet your spiritual needs.

May Allah continue to guide and bless us all, Ameen.

BEGINNINGS

As an American native, born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, I had early exposure to Muslims living in the Detroit metropolitan area. Years of interacting with Muslims in school and work, while studying in China in the early 1980s, it was my Uigher classmates whose families had been Muslim for over 1300 years, who reintroduced me to Islam.  Due to their dawah and further exposure to Islam, I took my shahadah.

Additional studies in Arabic, Arabic Linguistics, North African and Middle Eastern Studies, and several years working and studying in Muslim countries, these experiences led me to study Shari'ah Sciences under Dr. Taha Al-Alawani.  I will always be indebted to his vision of thematic Quranic Interpretation, which informs my views on mainstream and alternative views within Islam.  Combined, my exposure to a wide array of Muslims from other parts of the world, and honing my skills in years of experience, I provide an understanding of Shari'ah as applied within a non-Islamic country.

Though the counseling process is individualized, after completing preliminary stages of the counseling session, the client and Counselor establish ground rules and goals, and talk about trust issues and how we evaluate progress. Utilizing a spiritual and holistic approach, that considers both spiritual and cultural experiences--understanding Quran and weighing historical fact and religious mythology--to reconcile Islamic cultural and theological loggerheads in the West.

Throughout the counseling process, clients are better informed about the Quran, Sunnah and Hadith.  Gaining that knowledge helps my clients reevaluate the facts, historically, and brings knowledge to their situation, developing a plan to build balance into their daily lives.
